Duck Unlimited is located in the very heart of Duck, North Carolina! This is not your typical beach home that is worn with years of units. This is our splendid, private home that has been designed, decorated and dutifully maintained for pure relaxation and enjoyment. We look forward to sharing it with you this summer!
Bring your family to Duck Unlimited where you can relax, relax and play. Savor the pool, walk to town, play on the beach or just relax on the porch with a good book. Your kids will savor our recreation room complete with a 27” TV and Foosball table. Schooner Ridge has many fun activities for the kids including a game room (arcade games, air hockey and a pool table just to name a few) and playground for the younger kids. Adults appreciate the first-class exercise facility, tennis and racquetball courts. Schooner Ridge guests have private beach access (where is lifeguard is on duty throughout the summer) with a gazebo including a beach-side pool and hot tub. On the off-chance you have a rainy day during your vacation, everybody will enjoy the indoor pool in the recreation facility.

Our home is located in the impressive subdivision of Schooner Ridge. This means you can walk up to Duck Donuts for coffee and donuts in the morning, walk to the boardwalk stores in the afternoon and even walk to one of Duck’s many fantastic eateries for dinner in the evening. The only thing better than the walk to town is the very short walk to the beach. Places within a short walking distance of Duck Unlimited include:

Duck Unlimited is a non-smoking, non-pet home. This home is delightfully decorated and has enough beds to sleep 10. We rent only to families.
Duck Unlimited is available Sunday to Sunday with a check-in time of 1 P.M. To maximize your first day here (check-out is 9 a.M.).
We can also help you with babysitting needs, personal chef services and grocery shopping services. By ordering your groceries in advance, they will be in our home when you arrive and you can begin calming immediately instead of fighting the crowd at the grocery store. - June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Kitty Hawk area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Kitty Hawk attractions and restaurants.
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

- Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it.
