Tips to get the perfect Kitty Hawk rental home experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Kitty Hawk. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Kitty Hawk area:
- To start, have your group select the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. The Pirates' Retreat (2-Bedroom Cottage) - Pets Allowed by RedAwning has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
