Strategies for getting the perfect Kitty Hawk rental experience:
When to go & When to book:
- The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Reserve your Kitty Hawk vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Some hosts offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.
Selecting the best vacation rental in the Kitty Hawk area:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. The Pirates' Retreat (2-Bedroom Cottage) - Pets Allowed by RedAwning has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
More tips for your visit:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of issues.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
