Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Kitty Hawk area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Kitty Hawk vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Kitty Hawk visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on local accommodations and attractions.
Selecting and booking yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Venus Studio: Hottub, King Bed, Kayak, Bikes, SUP, has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
