Rental booking tips and tricks:
When to book a Kitty Hawk rental home & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Kitty Hawk. To get the best value, try shifting your family's Kitty Hawk vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Kitty Hawk visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, selecting, and booking the perfectrental home:
- First, have your family select dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Kitty Hawk Beach Bungalow has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the property during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
