Tips for getting the perfect Kitty Hawk vacation rental experience:
Get the best value:
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your family's Kitty Hawk vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Selecting the best rental in the Kitty Hawk area:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Margaritaville 2 .6miletoBeach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If not, call the property owner before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
- During arrival, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
