Freshly refreshed Beach House located 2.5 miles north of the heart of Duck and 1.5 miles south of The Sanderling Resort. (Bicycle/Walking trail in both directions) The side porch has an AMAZING view overlooking the Sound ideal for evening sunsets. It is also a short 4-5 min walk to the beach for handsome morning sunrises. A magnificent place for a little relaxation. My husband and I bought this home in Duck for family vacations to create many memories but wanted to share that with others. We currently live in Currituck but adore going to Duck for the weekends

Our top Kitty Hawk rental home booking tips and tricks:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Kitty Hawk visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Planning, selecting, and booking yourrental:
- First, have your family choose dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly renovated house in Duck has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- If there's a certain Kitty Hawk attraction you simply love, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
