Our beautiful, comfortable beach home is just a block to the beach in striking Kitty Hawk in the Outer Banks. The ocean is still great to swim and surf into October and sometimes November, when you will also find fantastic fishing!
It's ideal for a couple or modest family - 2 bedrooms with queen beds and futon in living room
We will still discount weekly units, but only Saturday to Saturday units, so please remind me that you'd like your discount for those dates, as I've had to remove them from my calendar.

Pool is shared with the homes on our modest block, only 14- 20 steps from home (open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
Our home is cleaned and disinfected, with numerous hours between guests and cleaners, so please don’t ask for early check in or late checkout for everybody’s safety. I can also discount Monday to Friday orSaturday rental. I do request that all recommended safety practices be followed.
Please make inquiry rather than booking request as some communication is needed before booking. Contact owner or manager for sales. Cleaners are all charging more due to having to use special procedures against sickness, and the partial weeks that may be possible in September are unfortunately not available for the summer season unless there is a cancellation .

Our beach bungalow is cozy and cheery. A home so close to the ocean that you can hear the waves is so restful after a day sunbathing, swimming, surfing, shopping, or sightseeing, and we newly got really comfortable queen beds.
Savor peaceful nights in fall, with super swimming, surfing, sunbathing, shopping, sightseeing, sunrises (and sunsets on sound side), fishing and dining!

LINENS PROVIDED. We have bath towels, hand towels, wash cloths, sheets and pillowcases, but please bring your own beach towels.
We have a new cable TV and WiFi system put in a year or two ago.
There are many, many fabulous eateries for seafood or nearly anything your heart may want. Shopping is great too, from an Outlet Mall to Walmart, Target & Dollar Tree, and numerous grocery stores, too, plus tons and tons of specialty stores!
We have a combination lock which our cleaner changes after cleaning, so I'll text you the combination by check in time if you text me when you are about an hour away.
We are a little community of about 10 homes, just across the street from the beach road and on warm summer days usually a few families share the pool. You can walk to the pool in about 10 seconds, and the beach/ocean in a min. or two.
Our area is much less busy and busy than Nags Head in the summer, but you can drive there in just a few mins. for any activities you would like to participate in. Even closer than Nags Head is Kill Devil Hills, where you can visit the Wright Brothers Memorial to discover the Wright Brothers' first flights. There is also a water park just about 10 mins. away, northwest across the Wright Memorial Bridge.
We have ample parking for 2 cars or an SUV. We can't take trailers, sizable trucks or boats in front of our home (on our modest driveway that I used to call the 2nd part of East Balchen) due to HOA Regulations, but you can park those on the main part of the street, as long as you don't block anyone's access or the community dumpster.
House Rules:
Absolutely No Smoking or Animals
No events (except for modest family get-togethers).
Check-in time is 4 PM to early the next day and check out time is 10:00 am sharp.
The most important rules are that smoking and pets are stringently forbidden. Aside from that, please just treat my home as you would like me to treat yours. I would appreciate if you leave it in good condition, fairly neat -- or at least toss all trash & leftover food in dumpster across the field from the home! Wearing shoes while crossing field is strongly recommended because of many cacti and sand burrs all over the beach area.
No pets, no smoking, no exceptions.
I leave coffee, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, soap and other amenities for guests, but can't be there myself every time to make sure it's kept up, so please use just what you need and leave the rest for the next family. Thank you for being our guests, and have a incredible time at the beach!
Checkout time is 10AM firm for safety and Check-in is 4 pm, but later is fine.
Security/Damage Deposit quickly refunded once I have made sure there is no damage.

Must rent full week Saturday to Saturday from May to August unless there is a space in my calendar that is less than one week. This usually happens when someone requests more than a week. Our first floor home has just 3 steps to the entrance. Full kitchen with everything you need. Linens (towels/washcloths/sheets) supplied, but please bring beach towels. We have Wi-Fi available, dedicated parking space for 1-2 cars (trailers and boats must park on main road).
In answer to many questions, sorry, we do not have a balcony and we do have a modest grille for barbecuing. We cannot take your modest, peaceful or even hypoallergenic pet due to asthma. We do have Internet, cable TV, and air-conditioning. We are less than a block to the beach, about a one to three min. walk, and it only 12-20 seconds to walk to the pool, open Memorial Day weekend until shortly after Labor Day. Family Pets and smoking are NOT allowed - no exceptions!
Our home has everything you need: full kitchen, linens, towels, dishes, etc. Remember to bring your sunscreen and toothbrush -- and a beach towel and swimsuit when weather is warm!
Our striking home was freshly painted and modernized a few years ago, a pretty periwinkle color and brighter, more modern decor. Cool and comfortable window a-c in summer; WiFi newly added. Washer/dryer unfortunately destroyed by a recent hurricane.
Payment must be made in full and deposited BEFORE arrival; I cannot accept payment on arrival. Weeks must be Saturday - Saturday for discounts.
Please don't ask for partial weeks in summer unless you see them offered. It would be a giant problem to have your reservation overlap with somebody else's, so I am booking Saturday to Saturday weeks please don't try to stay until Sunday - next rental Saturday to Saturday

Beach access very convenient - swimming, surfing, sunbathing and great fishing only a short walk away. Pool shared by Sea Retreat homes, from weekend before Memorial Day until Labor Day.
Many great places for shopping and eateries close by, some within walking distance, with a myriad of fun activities available within a short drive or bicycle ride. Don't miss seeing the Wright Brothers monument, commemorating first airplane flight!
