Come savor your stay in our Historic "Beach Box" across the street from the beach. This 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow is just steps away from a very exclusive and gorgeous beach. We have central heat/air, washer/dryer, High Speed Wifi, Intelligent 65" TV and plenty of off street parking.
Our beautful little bungalow features two queen pillow top beds and two twin pillow tops. We have a full size kitchen with all that's needed to prepare a full dinner!
We hope you will appreciate the original wood plank walls and ceilings. This is the way they constructed these original cottages years ago. Even the cabinets are constructed from the same wood and by the same carpenters. A very Historic Outer Banks Beach Cottage. This beach bungalow can be described as Rustic. We are making improvements to our new addition and you may notice a few minor imperfections. We hope you will adore the phenomenal location as we are focused on providing a clean and comfortable respite for you and your family.
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 75 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its appeal as an older beach bungalow. But even so, we hope that you will appreciate our older and beautiful home.

Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:
When to visit Kitty Hawk & When to book:
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Kitty Hawk. To find the best value, shift your family's Kitty Hawk vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Kitty Hawk area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the best vacation rental:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Calico Jack's Galley has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's a specific Kitty Hawk beach you crave, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
