Come savor your stay in our Historic "Beach Box" across the street from the beach. This 2 bedroom 1 bath bungalow is just steps away from a very exclusive and pretty beach. We have central heat/air, washer/dryer, High Speed Wifi, Intelligent 65" TV and plenty of off street parking.
Our beautful little bungalow features two queen pillow top beds and two twin pillow tops. We have a full size kitchen with all that's needed to prepare a full dinner!
We hope you will adore the original wood plank walls and ceilings. This is the way they constructed these original cottages years ago. Even the cabinets are constructed from the same wood and by the same carpenters. A very Historic Outer Banks Beach Cottage. This beach bungalow can be described as Rustic. We are making improvements to our new addition and you may notice a few minor imperfections. We hope you will appreciate the phenomenal location as we are focused on providing a clean and comfortable respite for you and your family.
Even with a thorough modernization the property is a historical home that is now over 75 years old. It has some eccentricities that reflect building standards and designs from the turn of the last century that lends to its appeal as an older beach bungalow. But even so, we hope that you will appreciate our older and striking home.

Booking the best rental home experience:
Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:
- To get the best value, consider changing your family's Kitty Hawk vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guide magazines that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking the rightvacation home:
- To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Calico Jack's Galley has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Kitty Hawk beach you crave, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
- Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
