Our modest bungalow is located in the ideal spot for seeing what all this area has to offer. This new construction is about 500 sq ft of cavernous living space with a hot tub and patio overlooking the wetlands area behind the property. It is private and comfortable; a great place to spend a honeymoon, anniversary, or maybe just to get away and reset. A short bicycle ride to see the sunset, a short drive to many public beach accesses, a short walk to Kitty Hawk Reserve where you can hike through the Maritime forest. Finest of all, the star gazing from the hot tub is on point.
We provide linens, towels, basic toiletries, coffee & tea, bicycles, and beach chairs. We also have a book with some information on the area.
We are local and readily available if there is anything you might need during your stay.

Tips to get the very best vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • To find the best value, change your family's Kitty Hawk trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guides that include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group select trip dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Private Small House at Kitty Hawk Reserve, OBX! Hot Tub & Beach included! has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the host before you book the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is right for your vacation group.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
