Introducing The Salty Siren - located on a gorgeous lot of Live Oaks, this handsome bungalow is just 450 yards from the beach. As this home is on a wooded lot, it has both the appeal and privacy of nature and the wildlife that come with it. While the home is on a regular protocol for insect control, the occasional insect will enter the home. We do our very best to mitigate these unwanted visitors, but if a stray insect has the potential to ruin your stay, we encourage you to find different accommodations.

Strategies to get the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Summer time is high season in Kitty Hawk. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the best rental home in the Kitty Hawk area:
- Start by choosing trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. The Salty Siren - Woodland Beach Beauty has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
