As this home is on a wooded lot, it has both the appeal and privacy of nature and the wildlife that come with it. While the home is on a regular protocol for insect control, the occasional insect will enter the home. We do our very best to mitigate these unwanted visitors, but if a stray insect has the potential to ruin your stay, we encourage you to find different accommodations.

Our top Kitty Hawk rental home tips and tricks:
When to reserve a Kitty Hawk rental home & When to go:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Book your Kitty Hawk vacation home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your Search:
- First, have your family decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The Salty Siren - Woodland Beach Beauty has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what is suitable for your vacation.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
