Introducing The Salty Siren - located on a beautiful lot of Live Oaks, this impressive bungalow is just 450 yards from the beach. This home is conveniently located along Duck Road with direct access to a multi-use path - great for cycling with your family or taking a walk in the salty breeze. Drive just two miles north for shopping and dining in the town of Duck. The nearest grocery store is less than four miles south. There are multiple beach accesses within walking distance of the home, the closest of which is right across the street. Guest parking passes are also included for those who prefer to drive.

As this home is on a wooded lot, it has both the appeal and privacy of nature and the wildlife that come with it. While the home is on a regular protocol for insect control, the occasional insect will enter the home. We do our very best to mitigate these unwanted visitors, but if a stray insect has the potential to ruin your stay, we encourage you to find different accommodations.

How to book the best Kitty Hawk rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Kitty Hawk area. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area travel guide magazines which include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking the best Kitty Hawk vacation home:
- Start by having your family commit to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. The Salty Siren - Woodland Beach Beauty has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a great stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
