Tips and Tricks to get the very best Kitty Hawk rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Kitty Hawk area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on nearby accommodations and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by choosing your a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Right on the Beach and Dog Friendly! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before reserving your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- Does your group require special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More tips for your stay:
- Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. message the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
