Nadine's Nest is a meticulously maintained soundside sanctuary located in the heart of Kitty Hawk. The open-concept layout and vaulted ceilings make the great room feel cavernous and airy, while the original cedar paneling adds warmth and coastal character. Outside, relax in the shade on the appealing front porch or climb up to the rooftop deck for an ocean view. Three of the four bedrooms, including the primary ensuite, are located on the top level with the main living area. Downstairs, you'll find a fourth bedroom, third full bath and a rec room with foosball table and sitting area. This indoor entertainment space leads out to a covered patio where you can take a calming soak in the bubbly hot tub.
When it's time to hit the beach, you'll be just a three-min. drive to the nearest public access at Lillian Street, which provides plenty of complimentary parking. Or take a short bicycle ride to Kitty Hawk Park, which includes a dog park, skate park and access to pristine nature trails through the Kitty Hawk Woods Preserve. Some of the most fashionable Outer Banks eateries are within a half mile radius of the home, including The Black Pelican, Hurricane Mo's and Jimmy's Seafood Buffet.
Can’t stay an entire week? Nadine's Nest is available for short stays with flexible arrival/departure options. For guests who like to plan ahead, partial week stays (three-nighttime minimum) can be reserved months in advance. Choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.
No family pets allowed. No smoking/vaping.

Finding the best vacation property experience:
Finding the best rental home value:
- To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Kitty Hawk area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your rental search:
- To start, have your family commit to a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Nadine's Nest: Hot Tub
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your family.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on great reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
