Kitty Hawk vacation rental booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Kitty Hawk area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Kitty Hawk rental home:
- First, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Dog Friendly~Hot Tub~Two Blocks From The Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your trip.
- Some rentals allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a specific Kitty Hawk attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
More considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas during check in. message the rental manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
