Our top Rental home tips and tricks:
How to get the best value:
- Book your Kitty Hawk rental in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitor guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself.
