Finding the best Kitty Hawk vacation property experience:
Finding the best value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Kitty Hawk. To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Narrow your Search:
- To start, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. New! Refreshed modern coastal retreat in Duck! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Kitty Hawk vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is optimal for your vacation.
- If there's a certain Kitty Hawk destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Considerations for your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
