How to find the best Kitty Hawk vacation home experience:

When to book a Kitty Hawk rental & When to go:

  • Summertime is high season in Kitty Hawk. Book your Kitty Hawk vacation in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Kitty Hawk vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Kitty Hawk area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Kitty Hawk visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the best vacation home in Kitty Hawk:

  • Begin by choosing your the best vacation week and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. SDL2 OCTIPI Your SenSEAS. Semi-Oceanfront 3 BR Townhome Open All Year, Community Pool, Clubhouse! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • If there's a particular Kitty Hawk destination you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
