This is one of the best locations in the Outer Banks for convenience and walking / cycling proximity to multiple activities and dining options.
From your condo unit you can walk to the ocean beach, indoor pool area, outdoor pool area, and the sound. Being on the outskirts of the town of Duck, you are a short walk or drive to shopping and dining along the 1-mile boardwalk located along the sound. In the evenings try not to miss the spectacular sunsets over the sound.

This is a two-level 2BR/2BA unit that can sleep eight persons (8) with two bedrooms (king and two twins) and two pull-out queen convertible couches, one on the upstairs loft and one in the living room, providing four separate sleeping areas all with (shared) bathroom access.
There is a full kitchen with stove, oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, etc. There is a breakfast bar with 4 stools and a dining area with table and 6 chairs, a living room with loveseat and queen sleeper couch. A special feature of this unit is a very roomy private outdoor deck with table and chairs overlooking both ocean and sound, providing a beautiful vantage point for both sunrises and sunsets. There is a washer / dryer in the unit.
RECENTLY RENOVATED
This property was originally constructed in the 1980's and early 1990's. with an $8+ million-dollar remodel project in 2023. The interior of this unit has been completely modernized including all new floors, appliances, cabinets, and furnishings.
Note: The photos illustrate the property. Some of the photos are of neighboring but equivalent units, a few predate the very recent renovation. If you have any questions about any details, please send me a note.

BIS-Duck Resort staff is available to provide assistance carrying your baggage to your unit if you would like some help.
ACCESSING THE BEACH AND SOUND
If you have a lot of beach gear, or modest kids, it might not be practical to walk to the beach from this unit in the summer heat. You can drive to a parking area near the Beach access. This private parking area is reserved for Resort guests where you can conveniently drop off your family and gear, or even park in the spaces included if one is available.
AMENITIES
The benefits offered by this resort include one of the biggest outdoor pool areas on OBX. Next to the pool area there is an onsite Sea Glass Snack Shack serving snacks like burgers and hot dogs, beverages, and water ice.
This property is unique on OBX with direct access to the both the Beach and the Sound and in very close proximity to the many stores and eateries in the Town of Duck. Many people park their car for the week and walk to everything.
The ocean beach is private for resort guests and has full-time lifeguards. The sound features a restaurant trendy for sunsets and rents various types of boats, paddle boards and jet skis to savor on the sound.
You benefit from these cavernous units being priced lower than comparable options of the same size in the area. Many families appreciate their annual vacations at this property, however if you are a traveler who requires more extravagant accommodations, this may not be the right choice for you, and you might want to consider one of the more expensive listings in Duck.

Vacation rental tips:

When to book a Kitty Hawk rental & When to go:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your Kitty Hawk vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Kitty Hawk visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Kitty Hawk rental home:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Cozy 2-bedroom sleeps 8 condo in oceanfront resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the host before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
